About AccountMode
AccountMode is a personal and small-business bookkeeping tool developed by Philip Page. It helps users record transactions, organise supporting information, view estimates and prepare exports.
Not tax or financial advice
AccountMode does not provide accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. Calculations, tax estimates, readiness checks and suggested set-aside amounts are guides only. You remain responsible for checking records and obtaining professional advice or HMRC guidance where appropriate.
No HMRC submission
AccountMode does not currently submit tax returns or Making Tax Digital updates directly to HMRC, and it does not claim HMRC certification. Exported files should be reviewed before they are supplied to an accountant or used in another system.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for entering accurate information, reviewing imported records, protecting access to your devices, keeping suitable backups and verifying exports. You must have a lawful basis for storing personal details about clients, pupils, payers or other contacts.
Testing software
Pre-release and TestFlight versions may contain errors, incomplete features or changes between builds. Do not rely on a single copy of important financial data. Use AccountMode’s backup export and retain source documents where required.
Availability and changes
Features may be improved, replaced or withdrawn as testing continues. Roadmap items are intentions rather than contractual commitments. Reasonable care will be taken to avoid destructive changes and to preserve existing records through compatible updates.
Apple services
Some features depend on Apple services, including iCloud, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, Photos, Contacts and biometric authentication. Their availability is controlled by Apple, the device, network connectivity and your account settings.
Backups and attachments
You should export backups regularly. Attachment file payloads may be local to the originating device and may not be recoverable from another device or after uninstalling the app. A record indicating that an attachment exists is not a guarantee that its underlying file is available everywhere.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the app, attempt to interfere with its security, use it unlawfully or infringe the rights of others. AccountMode is intended for legitimate record keeping by individuals and small businesses.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, AccountMode is provided without a guarantee that every calculation, import, export or third-party service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
